Come along on a tour of the southern portion of the Minneapolis Chain of Lakes, as seen from the vantage point of a local resident artist. This tour is designed to be an actual self-guided bike/hike tour, as well as a virtual tour via art.
From Bde Maka Ska (Lake Calhoun) to Lake Harriet, then along Minnehaha Creek to Lake Nokomis. Continue along Minnehaha Creek to Minnehaha Falls. Finish your tour at the Minnehaha Off-Leash Dog Park/Mississippi River Recreation Area.
Find the vantage point for each painting and note how the view has evolved over time. Spend a day at one or two; or challenge yourself to a one-day, 20-mile round-trip tour. (See tour map.)
Enjoy the lakes, trees, wildlife, waterways, people, pets and cafés along the way. See first-hand why Minneapolis is known as the “City by Nature”.
